Are there any young goths in Ohio? (Or any at all…)
I’m not sure if I’m allowed to ask this here, but I’ve been so desperate to find literally anyone in the scene. I don’t know any goths, or even anyone who might consider themselves a goth. I’m 21(f) and every other goth my age seems to not even live in my country 😓
I’ve never been to a goth club and I really really want to. I don’t have many friends at all, so I have no one to go to anything with. I’m terrified of going anywhere alone, I’ve actually never gone out alone for the night at all. I’m scared of being kidnapped or human trafficked I guess.
I live in Ohio and I think it’s the shittiest state ever for night life. There’s like 3 clubs in the entire state (or so I know) and I feel like all the goths who live here are fully solidified into their friend groups and wouldn’t want some shy 21yr old around them. I just want to know are there any younger goths (or even just the ppl who really like goths) in Ohio who need someone to go to a club or a rave with them? Bc that would be awesome. And if that’s too much to ask for, I’d settle for just some goth friends! 🖤

Is there a necessary political component to the subculture?
Disclaimer: respectful discourse only please, I don't want to fight about politics, I just want to know if this is a thing
So perusing through tiktok (my first mistake), there seems to be a huge argument going on about how it is "impossible" to be goth and "anything except left-wing", claiming that since goth stemmed from punk then this scene is also inherently political in nature, thereby excluding anyone who doesn't follow the same political ideologies/opinions.
Do you consider the goth subculture political in nature? I'm not American so this both fascinated and baffled me. I would say that the majority of us have similar beliefs but it is not inherent to the subculture or a necessary requirement as long as everyone is respectful of each other. But I'm also old and maybe the scene has evolved in this way?

Are there any loners with no friends in the goth scene? As in those who enjoy it all by themselves?
People ask me why I am always alone and try to socialize with the other goths? Because others have BETRAYED me that's why. They did things to me that I would never do to them.
That's why I, unlike most goths, am a loner. I don't socialize with other goths, due to too many easily upset and moody people. I am not having any more shenanigans and I cannot take it anymore, due to being on the autistic spectrum. If I don't like you, I will not socialize with you.
What should I do? Why am I the only one who keeps to himself and doesn't socialize? People, even those who are in the gothic subculture, see me as the weird one. And I feel like I am the world's most different man of all time.

Are there young goths nowadays?
Are there more young people that find themselves identified with the goth subculture these days?
I'm 21yo and I've been recently exposed, so to speak, to goth music and therefore the subculture, but I feel like there's not a lot of people interested in this, since goth originated between 70s and 80s, and also because rap/trap music is literally everywhere nowadays.
I kinda wanna find my peeps, I'm from Canada btw, but I'm a newcommer, and I haven't got the chance to visit bigger cities.
